c++ - OS development. How to start? -


I am a Java developer. I always wanted to write my own colonel and wanted to develop a small OS, I do not know What this kernel or OS will look like or what they will do, but I have something useful to contribute to the world of this huge and beautiful open source. I want to do this but my problem is that I do not know how to start. I had studied C / C ++ in my college days, now I do not remember much in these programming languages ​​but I can brush to start. I know that this journey will be difficult and long, but every long journey begins with one step.

If your goal is to contribute to the open source software pool, not attempts to write an operating system, but choosing a different thing. It's interesting and fun, but not necessarily productive, on OSR projects hundreds of years, hundreds of years in making some of them, and on the general consensus of OS development community.
